Bollywood media firm Reliance Big Entertainment, which is run by Anil Ambani - the sixth richest man in the world, has announced that he will be doing 10 films in Hollywood for billions of dollars. To do this, Reliance has signed agreements with the production teams of the Hollywood stars Nicolas Cage, Jim Carrey, khatrimaza George Clooney, Tom Hanks and Brad Pitt.

However, it is unlikely that these films will be traditional Bollywood titles. Rajesh Sawhney, who is chairman of Reliance, said: "We want to make Hollywood movies that have a global audience We are not inserting Bollywood to Hollywood at the moment.". He added that his team would be the choice of movies for their content rather than their gender. He said: "I think that Indian films get stereotyped as all singing and dancing in the same way that Hollywood is stereotyped for sex and violence are looking for good content, regardless of gender.". Ultimately, Mr. Sawnhey said the company is hoping to make some great movies that will make them money. He said: "We are trying to make big budget live action films of Hollywood that make money for us."

Hollywood has been seeking funding for film producers in India for a while, because the US economy is in trouble. In recent years, Disney, News Corporation and Sony have done a lot of money deals with Bollywood companies, although none of the offers were as big as the Reliance one.

Mr. Sawhney, said the agreement marked the beginning of a long relationship between Bollywood and Hollywood. He said: "The aim is to look 30 screenplays under this agreement in the next two years, of which 10 will go to the screen This is just the beginning of our relationship with Hollywood.".

Many film experts see this agreement as a true marriage of two cultures. Komal Nahta, editor of negotiable Mumbai Film Street Journal, called the agreement an "important" one. He said: "Trust is making a major move in putting together Hollywood and Bollywood The key will be if you can make Indian movies that sell abroad and at the same time sell foreign stars in India.".

Many people believe that such agreements could teach a lot about Bollywood. Currently, emissions from the film industry in India about 1,000 films a year, but only makes about £ 1 billion a year. In comparison, Hollywood produces half of this number but has 10 times sales. The reason often given for the relative lack of commercial success in Bollywood is that traditional Bollywood studios are generally family-owned business that rely on talent to carry a movie, instead of good scripts.
